California Modern architect John Lautner's visionary 1966 design for Harpel House #2 on Stanford Drive in Anchorage. The late Craig Harpel and I used to swap our Silver Age DC comics in the big room. The first Harpel House is in Los Angeles, California.
My dad and his brother purchased this house in 1969 from Mr. Harpel's widow and I lived with him there for a time growing up. The lake seen through the living room window is Lake Otis.

ReplyDeleteMy Dad built this with John Lautner....spent my childhood in this magical house....After my dad died on a snow machine in crow creek pass....My Mom “Patty” Indeed sold! Curt:)
